How-To: Add reviews from TripAdvisor to my website.
To integrate TripAdvisor reviews into your website, follow these steps:
- Visit https://www.tripadvisor.com/developers?screen=credentials, log in to your account, and generate an API Key. For details about the service's terms and usage, refer to TripAdvisor Content API FAQ.
- Open the Hotelwize app.
- Navigate to the Plugins section and locate the TripAdvisor Feed plugin.
- In the plugin settings, enter the API Key you created.
- Provide your Location ID, which can be found in the TripAdvisor location URL. It is the number following "d" (-d#####-). For example, in this URL: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g1836408-d232996010-Reviews-my-hotel, the Location ID is 232996010.
- Set the minimum review rating required to display reviews on your website.*
- Specify the maximum number of reviews to display. Aim to keep this number close to 5 to reduce the number of calls to TripAdvisor's Content API.
- Click Save, then publish the changes to apply them to the live environment.
*Note: Selecting a high minimum rating may result in fewer available recent reviews. This can lead to increased API calls, which may incur higher charges from TripAdvisor for using their Content API.
