How-To: Verify ownership of my website with Google

When performing SEO or marketing actions you will need to verify the ownership of your website with Google Search Console. This is usually done by uploading an HTML file, changing the DNS records or adding an HTML tag in the home page. Hotelwize supports the HTML tag method.

Install Website Verification Plugin

First you need to install and activate the Website Verification plugin.
Go to Plugins page, locate the Website Verification plugin and click Activate.

Verify ownership with Google Search Console

  1. Login to Google Search Console or register. https://search.google.com/search-console
  2. Click on Add Property
  3. Select URL Prefix as property type and enter your website URL
  4. In the Verify Ownership view select the HTML Tag method
  5. In the meta tag displayed select the verification id value only 
  6. On the Website Verification plugin configuration enter the verification id in the Site Verification ID field
  7. Click Save
