Meta Signals Gateway Plugin

Meta Signals Gateway Plugin

Overview

The Meta Signals Gateway plugin enables robust server-side tracking for your hotel website by integrating with the Meta Conversions API Gateway. This solution helps bypass intelligent tracking prevention (ITP) and ad blockers, ensuring more accurate data collection for your Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising campaigns.

This plugin serves as the client-side bridge that connects your website to your Meta Conversions API Gateway instance.

What is Stape.io ?

Stape.io  is a popular hosting provider for server-side tracking infrastructure. We recommend using Stape.io  to host your Meta Conversions API Gateway because it offers:

  • Easy "Click & Go" setup.
  • Custom domain support (crucial for establishes first-party context).
  • Scalable infrastructure without managing your own cloud servers (AWS/GCP).

Setting up Meta Conversions API Gateway on Stape.io

To use this plugin, you must first have a running instance of the Meta Conversions API Gateway.

Step 1: Create a Stape.io  Account

  1. Go to Stape.io  and create an account.
  2. In the dashboard, click "Create Container".

Step 2: Choose Conversions API Gateway

  1. Give your container a name (e.g., "My Hotel CAPIG").
  2. Select "Meta Conversions API Gateway" as the container type (Note: This is distinct from Server-side Google Tag Manager).
  3. Choose a server location closest to your main customer base.
  4. Click Create Container.

Step 3: Configure Custom Domain (The Host)

Important: For the gateway to work effectively as a first-party tool, you must map a subdomain of your hotel's website to the Stape server.

  1. In your Stape container settings, find the Domains section.
  2. Add a custom subdomain, such as metrics.your-hotel-domain.com or capig.yourweb.com.
  3. Stape will provide DNS records (usually an A record).
  4. Update your DNS settings at your domain registrar with these records.
  5. Once verified, this subdomain (e.g., https://metrics.your-hotel-domain.com) will be your Host URL.

Step 4: Connect to Meta

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions in the Stape/CAPIG interface to log in with your Facebook account.
  2. Connect the gateway to your Meta Pixel and Business Manager.
  3. Note down the Pixel ID you are connecting.
