Explore Guest Preferences Report

Guest segmentation to understand better your guests' preferences and behaviour

One of Bookwize's Business Intelligence tools that helps you understand better your hotel guests is the Explore Guest Preferences Report. To view the report, choose Dashboard > Explore and then click on the top right Preferences Box to set your request.

You may filter your search per Dates Period (based on booking date, arrival or departure), per Country, per Reservation Source and Value (overnights, revenue or reservations). 

In the Dimensions field you can set any combination that you need of the following indicators: Guest Type, Meal Plan, Room Type, Rateplan (Offer), Reservation Source (Channel), Length of Stay (LOS), Booking Time (Booking Window), Month of Arrival, Month of Booking and Country.

You need to choose at least two dimensions, but we suggest you to choose either 3 or 4 indicators to succeed the best analysis of your data.

As soon as you choose the dimensions of your preference and click on Show you will see a Chart showing the segmentation of your guests as per the preferences set by your request. You will need to move your mouse over each circle arc to see the sequence of the chosen segmentation and the respective percentage.

The chosen sequence is presented under the Dimension Titles.

The percentage of the chosen sequence is shown in the center of the chart's circle.

In the example above, we have requested to see the segmentation of guests as per the following sequence: Guest Type > Booking Time > Reservation Sourct > Length of Stay.

By moving the mouse over the inner circle we can see the results regarding the first indicator that we have requested: Guest Type. As per below, 50.30% of the hotel's guests are Families.

By moving the mouse over the next circle we will receive the results for the next level of the sequence requested: Guest Type > Booking Time. As per the report, 30.60% of the hotel's guests are Families who booked 31-180 days prior arrival. 

In order to check the next level of the sequence (Guest Type > Booking Time > Reservation Source) we need to move the mouse over the next circle and explore the data shown in every arc. The chosen circle arc shows that 8.83% of the hotel's guests are Families, who booked 31-180 days prior arrival, directly through the hotel's website.

In order to complete the analysis we need to move the mouse over the external circle's arcs and see the full sequence results (Guest Type > Booking Time > Reservation Source > Length of Stay). The arcs that we have chosen in the example show that 3.63% of the hotel's guests are Families who booked 31-180 days prior arrival, directly through the hotel's website and stayed for 3 to 6 nights.

Move the mouse over the arcs of every circle in order to easily compare and analyse the segmentation of your guests and identify their behaviour and quality differences.

Choose various Dimensions to create different segmentations and analyse multiple characteristics of your guests that will help you plan better your revenue and marketing actions.
