Why is the Total Cost higher in the Control Panel compared to the Reservation Confirmation?
In some cases, you may notice that while the prices shown in the booking confirmation are correct, the total amount in the Bookwize back office may appear increased.
This typically occurs due to the way the city tax is handled by your PMS.
When we receive an updated reservation message from your PMS, the city tax may already be included in the room cost. As a result, this total (including the city tax) is imported and displayed as the room cost in Bookwize.
However, since the city tax is also configured separately within Bookwize, it is automatically added again on top of the imported amount. This leads to a higher total being displayed in the back office.
What can be done?
In order to solve the issue, your PMS must not update the room cost with an amount that includes both the room cost and the tax amount.
